Dear Parents/Guardians, 

My name is Anne Markovich and I am honoured to introduce myself as the Acting Principal of Valley Creek School while Helen Colbourne is on leave. 

I have worked for the Calgary Board of Education for 33 years in a variety of positions, as teacher, learning leader, assistant principal and most recently retired as principal at Dr. J.K. Mulloy School. I have spent the past year working at various C.B.E. elementary, middle and high schools, filling in for principals when they are absent. 

I look forward to working alongside our assistant principals Cathy Johnson and Meghan LaBarbera, as well as our amazing staff who work together to make Valley Creek an incredible school where students thrive intellectually, grow to be active and engaged citizens and learn to be kind, caring and empathetic individuals. 

Please remember to check the school website for back-to-school information. Junior High supplies lists should now appear on the website.

If your plans have changed or you have moved and your child(ren) will no longer be attending Valley Creek School this year, please contact the school office so we can ensure your child's file is transferred to the new school as soon as possible. 

Also a quick reminder that Photo Day is Sept 10, and the cafeteria will open on Tuesday, Sept 3 so please be sure to send lunch with your child(ren) on Thursday, August 29 if they stay for lunch. Friday, August 30 is an early dismissal day (12pm).

You should also be receiving a welcome email from your child's homeroom teacher by 4pm Wednesday, August 28. No worries if you have not heard by then as staff will be available outside with class lists to help students get where they need to be on Thursday morning.
